How to Cancel a Snap Fitness Membership

How to Cancel Snap Fitness Membership

Snap Fitness gyms are independently owned, so you cancel with your home gym: call it, email it or visit in person, or use a Click to Cancel option if your gym’s website shows one. Most memberships need 30 days’ notice, and you pay dues for those 30 days, which may mean a prorated final payment.[1] Email is the easiest to prove later, so keep the gym’s reply.

Which gym handles your Snap Fitness cancellation?

Your home gym handles your membership and billing. It isn’t always the gym where you signed up: Snap Fitness automatically transfers your membership to the gym you attend most often.[1]

If you’re not sure which gym that is, open the Snap App and go to Profile > Settings > My Membership > View Payment History. The payment report includes your club’s contact info.[2]

You can also look the gym up with the Snap Fitness gym locator. Gym pages list the gym’s phone number, email address and staffed hours.[3]

How to cancel Snap Fitness by email, phone or in person

The member FAQ lists three ways to reach your home gym for a cancellation: call, email or visit in person.[1]

  1. Open your gym’s page in the gym locator and note its email, phone number and Staffed Hours.[3]
  2. Email the gym, call it during staffed hours, or visit in person, and say you want to cancel your membership.[1]
  3. Give your full name and the email address on your membership, so the gym can find your account.
  4. Ask the gym for the date your last dues payment will be taken and the amount of any prorated final payment.[1]
  5. Keep the gym’s written reply. If you called or visited, ask for the confirmation by email.

Can you cancel Snap Fitness online? Click to Cancel, where available

In some states, a Click to Cancel option appears on the gym’s website. If you see it, submit your cancellation there and the gym processes it like any other cancellation.[1]

On the Snap Fitness site, some gym pages show a Request Membership Cancellation item and others don’t.[3] If your gym’s page has no online option, use email, phone or a visit instead.

Snap Fitness 30-day notice: what you’ll still pay

Most Snap Fitness memberships require 30 days’ notice. You’re responsible for dues only for the 30 days after your notice, and that may require a prorated final payment.[1]

Prices and the joining process vary from gym to gym because each one is locally owned and operated, so your membership agreement and your home gym have the final word on your plan.[1]

Example: you give notice on March 10. You owe dues for the 30 days to April 9, so a payment due inside that window still goes through, and the last one may be prorated.

Pause instead: how to freeze a Snap Fitness membership

If you only need a break, Snap Fitness lets members freeze their memberships. Call, email or visit your home gym during staffed hours, and the staff will explain the process.[1]

Ask for the freeze at least three business days before your next billing date, so the gym can stop the upcoming charge in time.[1] Ask the gym what the freeze costs and when billing restarts.

Joined in the last 30 days? Check the Money Back Guarantee

If you signed up for a full membership and don’t feel a positive difference within 30 days, the gym refunds your membership costs and access card fees.[1]

To qualify, you must work out at the gym at least twice a week for four weeks and attend a fitness evaluation with gym staff. The refund doesn’t cover program fees, tanning, personal training, vending or merchandise.[1]

Snap Fitness cancellation FAQs

Can you cancel Snap Fitness in the app?

The Snap App’s help page covers payments and billing, not cancellation.[2] Use the app to find your club’s contact details, then cancel by email, phone, in person, or Click to Cancel where your gym offers it.

Can you cancel a Snap Fitness membership anytime?

On most month-to-month memberships you can, with 30 days’ notice. Most gyms offer a month-to-month option that doesn’t lock you into a long-term contract.[1] If you signed a term agreement, read it or ask your home gym what applies before you give notice.

Is there a Snap Fitness cancellation fee?

Your membership agreement sets any fee, so ask your home gym to confirm the final charge in writing. Expect dues for the 30 days after your notice on most memberships.[1]

Who do I contact if my gym doesn’t respond?

Contact the corporate headquarters through the Contact Us page or at inquiries@snapfitness.com, and include your city, state and postal code.[1][4] Billing and membership questions still go to your gym.
